• "Cherridune" is a classic shingled summer cottage, c. 1901, built on a tertiary dune as part of a family compound in East Hampton’s storied East End and owned by style-maven and trendsetter Kate Brodsky and family • They had a clear vision that inspired a highly-sensitive period renovation, including single-paned glazed restoration glass windows and doors, bronze screens, storm windows, and screened porch addition • Banks of glazed diamond paned windows were inspired by neighboring cottages • Ledged-and-braced doors with strap hinges for service doors • Douglas fir floors • Period style out-swing garage doors • Gardens by Nancy Goslee Power and Landscape Details • All modern amenities; geothermal heating and cooling; increased square footage through basement excavation; playroom, summer kitchen, wine cellar functions added to the basement • Insensitive additions to the original chauffeur’s cottage and garage were removed, transforming it into a self sufficient, two-bedroom, two-bath guest house •
