• Our client had a clear vision of a complete, aesthetic recreation of "Over the Brook”, an iconic Long Island country house whose history spans from the early 19c to 1939 • The 18 acre property on Long Island Sound includes a 12,000 square foot main house, stable group and caretaker’s cottage designed by architect Bradley Delehanty c. 1925, ballroom addition by Wyeth & King, c. 1939, and formal gardens by Innocenti and Webel, c 1938 • A collection of 17c and 18c period paneled rooms is comprised of an American Colonial octagonal billiard room, a French Rococo dining room, and a Stuart-period oak paneled ballroom • Modern amenities include a two-story “family style” kitchen with rough plaster walls, bleached oak millwork, and waxed back limestone floors • Master site plan by Miranda Brooks •
